SwitchProbe - Ports Section

The port section of the the SNMP MIB provides the interface number for each port.

A switch reports the port number for MAC addresses in the Bridge section. A switch must also report the interface for every port in its port section. The IntraVUE‎ scanner uses the reported interface's bytes transmitted and received to calculate bandwidth. If a switch does not report its ports on interfaces, the scanner will not consider the switch to be a valid managed switch. Check the switches permissions in the access control list if you find this case.

The SwitchProbe Report looks up the interface's description, type, and speed from previously collected SNMP data and provides it in this section as well.
